Coach Jennifer’s love for swimming began at just five years old in summer league and quickly grew into an accomplished age-group career. She qualified for Nationals, the U.S. Open, Sectionals, and Gulf All-Stars, and at Katy High School she was a four-time State Finalist, All-American, Academic All-American, and State Champion in the 100 Breaststroke—while setting multiple school records that still stand today.
At Purdue University, Jennifer continued her success as a scholarship athlete, becoming a four-time Big Ten Finalist, Academic All-American, NCAA Championships qualifier, and school record holder in the 200 Breaststroke. She also earned a spot at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 100 Breaststroke. Beyond competition, she gained valuable coaching and leadership experience while completing her Master’s degree and working with the Texas A&M Athletic Department.
Coach Blake also brings a wealth of competitive swimming and coaching experience. A standout athlete from a young age, he qualified for Junior Nationals at 14, became a finalist at 15, and reached Senior Nationals by 17. In high school, he captured a Texas State Championship in the 200 freestyle and a bronze medal in the 100 butterfly before swimming on scholarship at Purdue University, where he was a Big Ten finalist in the 200 fly. Today, Blake channels his elite swimming background into coaching with a focus on technique, mental toughness, and smart training strategies to help swimmers of all levels reach their potential.
Now coaching side by side, Blake and Jennifer combine years of elite swimming and coaching experience with a deep commitment to their athletes. While homeschooling their five children—all members of MARC—they bring passion, technical expertise, and energy to every practice. Together, they are dedicated to developing strong swimmers and an even stronger sense of community, where athletes refine their skills, achieve meaningful goals, and build lifelong friendships through the sport of swimming.
Rick Stanfield
Assistant Coach
Coach Rick’s passion for swimming started in the water and never left. He swam two years at Midland College, where he became a 4-time All American and the 1976 NJCAA National Champion in the 200-yard Backstroke.
His coaching career spans decades of success. He spent 12 years with the Huntsville Lakers, where his swimmers set multiple NWAL records. He went on to launch the Huntsville group of the Aggie Swim Club, guiding several young athletes to TAGS and even coaching a State Champion. After retiring and moving to Willis in 2019, he couldn’t stay away from the pool—he joined the Rattlesnakes Summer League, helping swimmers smash team records. In June 2024, he brought his experience and energy to MARC, where he now works primarily with the Junior and Senior Groups.
Beyond the pool, Coach Rick has been married to his wife, Tammy, for 42 years. Together, they’ve raised two children: Jessica (married to Josh Prince, with three kids—Jax, Jett, and Jovie) and Josh Stanfield (married to Kristin, with their son Hayden).
At the heart of his coaching, Rick believes that every swimmer should reach their full potential while learning that hard work and dedication pave the way for success—in life and in the water. His coaching philosophy is summed up in his favorite saying:
“Happy Swimmers are Fast Swimmers.”
